2 months agoThe Al-Gawhara Palace was one of the most surprising discoveries I made within the Citadel of Saladin. Unlike the grand mosques, this place impresses not with its size, but with its details, its history, and its unique atmosphere. A tour through the rooms offers a fascinating glimpse into courtly life of bygone eras. I was particularly captivated by the intricate decorations, the historical furnishings, and the blend of various architectural influences. It's clear that great care was taken to preserve the past. I found it very interesting to see the magnificent rooms and learn more about the history of Egypt's rulers. The palace is quieter than many other sights in Cairo, making for a particularly relaxing experience. For me, the visit was a wonderful complement to the Citadel and demonstrated just how diverse Cairo's historical side truly is.
