in the last weekI’m honestly beyond frustrated writing this, but people need to know exactly what happened. We felt trapped in a system that seemed designed to extract as much money as possible, not to provide transparent care. The most shocking part: the moment the hospital realized the insurance had a limit, they stopped my mother’s operation. I clearly told them I would personally cover any remaining costs. That should have been enough to proceed — this is a medical situation, not a paperwork exercise.Instead, everything was delayed. Later, I was told that a verbal confirmation is not enough and that I needed to submit it in writing. No one informed me of this requirement upfront. That single day of delay cost us around 50,000 EGP extra — for absolutely no medical reason. Then comes the billing. You are not allowed to see detailed costs until after full payment, which is completely unacceptable. When I finally saw the breakdown, it was unbelievable:* Around 40,000 EGP charged for lab analysis — every possible test, whether necessary or not * My mother’s hands were visibly affected from the excessive number of samples taken * No clear justification for most of these tests* around 150K EGP of total cost and the final results: she is okay and her situation is manageable and she just need to follow up with doctors.ICU admission was another issue. The doctor insisted it was required, but in reality, her condition was stable. After pushing back, she left ICU within 3 days — on her own feet. That raises serious questions about whether ICU was medically necessary or just another revenue stream. And the smaller charges add up in a very disturbing way:* 1450 EGP x 3 for vinyl gloves * 1000 EGP per day for a mattress that wasn’t even needed or used * Multiple additional items that made no sense for her actual conditionTo be clear: the medical staff themselves are competent, and the care quality from a clinical perspective is good. That’s not the issue. The issue is the system around it — lack of transparency, unnecessary procedures, and decisions that feel financially motivated rather than medically driven. My mother was stable. She could walk, use the bathroom herself, even shower. Yet we were being billed and managed as if she was in critical condition. This is not okay. This is the kind of experience that should trigger serious internal review and accountability. Because from where I stand, this feels less like healthcare and more like a controlled cash trap.If you’re considering this place: only go if your loved one is in real, critical danger — and be prepared to question everything, document everything, and push back constantly.

a week agoThe worst hospital I've ever dealt with. I was referred there from the clinics with a wrong diagnosis for my child. First, I was admitted to the emergency room for 4 hours because the approvals officer couldn't get approval from the treating company, and in the end, I was the one who got the approval, not him, without even informing us. We were left waiting for nothing. I was referred for an X-ray with contrast, and it turned out they were laughing at me and wanted me to have my child undergo surgery. Surgery performed unnecessarily, just for the money. The nursing staff is the worst, incredibly negligent, with absolutely no supervision. None of them seem to be doing their jobs. The customer service employee is completely incompetent and negligent. The on-call doctors are very young and their treatment of patients is terrible. They speak to the patient with utter disrespect and provocation. The on-call manager is also young and doesn't know how to deal with anyone. The emergency room doctors are provocative and unprofessional, misdiagnosing the patient and demanding I sign a report about my son's condition that's completely wrong. Seriously, the hospital's only goal is to achieve its financial targets; they don't even provide the service they charge for. The only good thing is the cleaning staff. Otherwise, no one is doing their job at all. There's no management or supervision. If there were a respectable administration, no one would be able to be so negligent. Seriously, it's the worst private hospital I've ever dealt with. I absolutely do not recommend Al-Andalus Hospital in Smouha.

3 weeks agoGod is my sufficiency, and He is the best disposer of affairs. This is the worst hospital; all they care about is money, and the patient's health is the last thing on their minds.
