2 months agoWe stayed at the KR Hotel on the West Bank of Luxor in February 2026.The owner, Abdul, his half-brother Mahmoud, and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly, hospitable, and helpful. Feel free to let them arrange everything for you. Their regular driver, Mahmoud, was our faithful travel companion. A nice guy! He also shows you a bit of local life.The West Bank is ideal. Quiet and close to many sights. The location of the KR Hotel might feel a bit primitive at first, situated on a dirt road and a bit further away from the more touristy areas, but it is lovely and safe. And what a view from the rooftop terrace! Fantastic!10-minute walk or tuk-tuk to the ferry (25 EGP p.p.) or private boat (100-150 EGP per crossing, negotiate!).Breakfast is extensive and tasty. Rooms are spacious, with a fridge and a nice balcony. And, of course, a refreshing swimming pool.Wifi is a bit weak on the second floor. But anyway, an e-SIM costs next to nothing (tip: Roamic) and 4G/5G is fine.Just a quick note about the location: Have your taxi navigate to Google coordinates 7GQJPJ5H+96. Because the location in Google Maps and the location on Booking.com are both incorrect. Or have the taxi drive to the former Flamingo Hotel. KR Hotel has taken this over. Or to the Embrace Hotel and then take the road to the right of the narrow side; it is another 50m after the bend.TIP: Restaurant Wolf is just a few minutes' walk away, or Restaurant Thebe on the Nile.

4 months agoThe facilities are excellent, and the views are great. Surrounded by fields, it's very quiet and a perfect vacation spot.
