Lagona Divers – Dahab South

I again had the pleasure of diving with Lagona Divers Dahab South, and it was nothing short of outstanding. Kerstin and Andy are truly among the elite of technical diving instructors. Kerstin has guided me to the level of CCR Hypoxic Trimix over the past years—supremely competent, patient, and impeccably reliable. I thank you both for sharing your knowledge and friendship.

For us, Lagona Divers is an excellent dive center with very high standards. You feel welcome from the very beginning, whether you're a beginner or an experienced diver.A major plus of the center is its outstanding equipment; they have everything you could possibly need, and the value for money is excellent.During our two-week stay in April, every wish was fulfilled, from individually tailored dives for our son with a private guide to special excursions for my husband and daughter. Even I, as a snorkeler, was exceptionally well looked after.A fantastic highlight every Thursday is the superb boat trip in a small group; it's a real treat for both divers and snorkelers.The very well-organized training courses, which my daughter and husband were able to take again this year, are also fantastic.What's so great about this dive center is that Andy and Kerstin, along with their entire team, are always there to help and support you, making individual requests a reality.We're already looking forward to our next vacation with you!

I had the pleasure of spending a week on a diving holiday with the wonderful dive group "Spiritdivers"—a huge thank you to them!Our dive center this year was Lagona Divers in Dahab South.As an Open Water Diver, I haven't had the chance to experience many dive centers, but I was able to get a first impression of how things can be structured.I'm speaking solely from my own experience and not for the other participants.The briefings were clearly explained, and the dive sites matched the descriptions. However, the focus on basic exercises—especially around the inflator—was, in my opinion, excessive and sometimes felt more like a training session than guided dives.This impression continued underwater: for my personal taste, the dives themselves were very restrictive, leaving little room for independent exploration. I missed having that freedom. I understand that rules are necessary and must be followed, but a little more flexibility would have been welcome.The guide's frequent use of the shaker noticeably detracted from the tranquility and the experience of nature for me. Furthermore, I had the impression that the dives were heavily geared towards reaching the maximum depth and finishing quickly, rather than focusing on the actual underwater experience. This left hardly any time for activities like photographing or filming the flora and fauna.Especially during the first night dive, I would have appreciated significantly more sensitivity in addressing individual needs, ensuring they were respected and accommodated.Overall, I felt that there was less trust placed in the divers' sense of responsibility and instead a very rigid set of rules.Perhaps our guides simply had too many divers to keep an eye on ;)

Professionalism. Great atmosphere. Wonderful people. Great instructor. I took the Scuba Dive course on my 50th birthday with my 18-year-old son. I'd never dived before. An unforgettable experience. I'll be back next year for a winter dive ;)
